Inc. Leverages Office Technology Suite to Grow
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge
was to grow sales and achieve profitability without taking
on long-term debt or giving up equity. Prices had to be
kept low to make outsourcing worthwhile for software
vendors. Competitive salaries were required to retain a
high-tech workforce. These factors had the company
currently operating at a loss.
THE SOLUTION
SysGen, Inc.'s
management team created a strategic plan calling for a
three-pronged approach:

To improve
productivity and cut non-essential overhead costs SysGen,
Inc. implemented an office technology suite. The suite
included an online Document Management System, an Intranet
(for Email, Calendaring, Tasks, etc.),
a Virtual PBX Phone System, Unified Messaging, and a Web
Conferencing/Remote Support tool.
This allowed
SysGen, Inc. to switch from a traditional office environment
to a work at home environment. The company also offered
employees the flexibility to make their own hours.
Increased productivity was immediately realized which
allowed more time to focus on increasing sales to existing
customers. Overhead costs were reduced by downsizing leased
office space, and eliminating several leased phone stations.
THE RESULTS

increased by 62% and profitability was achieved in
under 36 months without taking on any long term debt, and
profits were used to pay off all short term debt
